Open Workshop - Etching/Intaglio

from €55.00

Every Wednesday (and sometimes Saturday), we are opening the doors of the studio for amateur and professional printmakers.

from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

(Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)

Requirements for participation are knowledge and experience with etching techniques (line and aquatint) and basic drawing skills.

For those wanting to have a “first dip” into the world of Etching, I offer a try-out of dry-point engraving as an introduction to printmaking. Dry-point does not require any previous knowledge.

Please bring your own drawing utensils, sketches, and drafts as well as copper/zinc plates!

What does it cost?

Each session is 55 € for the use of the studio and materials.

You can purchase a 3 session card and book 3 sessions ahead for more studio time with a discounted price - 130 €

In addition, if more assistance is needed, we can arrange for Accompanied Work with the workshop instructor (hourly rate) - 50 €

Once the fee payment is approved - we can book together suitable dates for your project OR have a look at the calendar when the OW is scheduled (calendar here)

!! Important !!

Etching involves the use of a press, mordants, acids, solvent and other chemical materials - this should not be taken lightly —>>After the first work session, if the participant needs more assistance and shows signs of lack of knowledge or inexperience, for the safety of the participant and the workshop, the instructor is entitled to require from the participant to attend a course before joining the Open Workshop again.
